Reboiler

Reboilers are purpose-built for distillation service in refinery, petrochemical, and chemical plant applications. Available in kettle type and thermosyphon type configurations, each unit is engineered to provide efficient and reliable heat input to the distillation column base, with full compliance to TEMA and ASME standards and customization for process-specific thermal and hydraulic requirements.

Available Configurations

Every reboiler is engineered to order to meet the specific thermal and hydraulic duty of the distillation column it serves. Both kettle and thermosyphon configurations are available with full customization for MOC, nozzle orientation, and applicable design codes.

Kettle Type Reboiler
Oversized shell with internal weir separating the tube bundle pool from the vapor outlet. Provides stable, low-velocity boiling with a large disengagement space, ideal for fouling services and wide turndown.
Thermosyphon Reboiler
Natural-circulation design using the density difference between feed liquid and partially vaporized return to drive flow. Compact footprint with lower cost — the preferred choice for most refinery and petrochemical distillation columns.
Column Base Heat Input
Designed specifically for distillation column bottom service — provides the duty required to vaporize bottoms product back into the column, maintaining the thermal balance of the separation process.
Thermal & Hydraulic Design
Each unit is sized for the specified process duty — heat transfer area, MTD, overall heat transfer coefficient, fouling allowances, and two-phase hydraulics are all accounted for during design.
Custom Nozzle Orientation
Inlet, outlet, vent, drain, and instrument nozzle orientations are configured per plant piping layout drawings. All nozzles are rated for operating pressure and temperature with appropriate flanging standards.
